	Mrs. R. H. Moorman (Mrs. Marion Cooper) The award was established in memory of the late Dr. R. H. Moorman, former chairperson and faculty member of the Mathematics Department (1940-1970). Following Dr. Moorman's passing on July 5, 1971, the fund was created in 1972 with an initial gift of $100 from Miss Suzanne Bacon. A year later, it was endowed with a gift from Mrs. R. H. Moorman (Mrs. Marion Cooper).
