	Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence (Jean) Hester The Jere Whitson Memorial Scholarship was established by the following family members: Mrs. W. B. Carlen (Fanalou Whitson Carlen), Mr. Thurman Whitson, and Mrs. Bob W. Lowe (Mary Alice Whitson Lowe). Jere Whitson, a pioneer Cookeville Businessman and one of the founders of Dixie College (the predecessor of Tennessee Tech), was one of the foremost early supporters of this University.
